INTRODUCTION

A Modern Take on a Classic

The “Grechuta Herbuta” project is a tribute event where Igor Herbut reinterprets the music of Marek Grechuta. Hosted at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre, this wasn’t just a traditional concert, but a deep musical experience. It required a visual design that blended respect for a legendary artist’s legacy with modern stage aesthetics.

THE CHALLENGE

The main challenge was delivering a show that met today’s high production standards while preserving the raw, honest vibe of Grechuta’s original work. The project demanded a clean, raw visual look with high-end execution—lighting that would complement and elevate the emotions of the new arrangements rather than overpower them.

THE SOLUTION

Lighting designer Tomasz Sierotko brought this vision to life using a setup that included 12 Brighter X-Bar IP fixtures. By utilizing their sharp, $6^{\circ}$ beam angle and deep, saturated colors, he built a modern atmosphere that blended perfectly with the minimalist set design. The fixtures allowed for precise beam shaping and spatial control, delivering a punchy yet sophisticated look that perfectly framed the performance.

CONCLUSIONS

The “Grechuta Herbuta” production proved that the right lighting tech can bridge the gap between classic music and modern show design. Thanks to their output and precision, the Brighter X-Bar IP fixtures delivered the raw aesthetic that served as the backbone of the entire show. The rig designed by Tomasz Sierotko proved that modern lighting standards, when used correctly, are the ultimate tool for honoring classic material in an elegant, uncompromising way.
