INTRODUCTION
Combining an electronic music festival with the historic architecture of Rydzyna Castle presented the production crew with stringent equipment requirements. Operating within a heritage-protected site—where any alteration to the building’s structural or aesthetic features was strictly prohibited—demanded lighting fixtures with highly specific optical and structural design parameters.
A rig featuring 86 Brighter Lighting fixtures, including the advanced Brighter X-Profile IP moving heads, played a pivotal role in this project. Below, we present a technical analysis of how these fixtures’ specifications perfectly aligned with the demands of such a complex production.
PROJECT BRIEF
Scope of Integration
Synchronization of lighting systems with a multi-point, high-power laser array and special stage effects, including live flame jets and CO₂ cannons.
Design Concept
Completely eliminating traditional stage roofing to make the historic architecture the centerpiece of the set design, transforming the building’s exterior facade into a monumental backdrop.
Technical & Site Conditions
An entirely outdoor production on the grounds of a designated national heritage site under strict conservation protection
Technical Objective
The primary task was to supply fixtures with advanced framing optics capable of precisely mapping the castle walls without any physical contact with the building’s structure, alongside a versatile array of wash fixtures to provide ambient illumination across the entire venue.
THE CHALLENGE
Outdoor Application Demands:
Operating in a fully exposed, open-air environment susceptible to unpredictable weather forced the production crew to deploy strictly IP65-rated fixtures to guarantee absolute equipment reliability throughout the entire event.
Spatial Architecture:
The project required bridging two completely distinct visual worlds: the elegant architectural illumination of the Baroque walls and a high-energy, club-like environment for the audience. The lighting system needed specialized fixtures to build depth on the facade, alongside ultra-fast, compact moving heads capable of cutting mid-air geometric structures within the tight footprint of the castle courtyard.
Coexistence with Laser Systems:
The stage lighting had to seamlessly complement the high-power laser array. Every single effect fixture required an exceptionally high light output and razor-sharp beam definition to work in tandem with, rather than get drowned out by, the intense laser beams.
THE SOLUTION
To address the project’s rigorous technical demands, the Brighter Lighting fixtures were deployed in independent, task-specific zones. This approach enabled the crew to simultaneously achieve both the architectural and high-energy effect objectives:
Precise Facade Framing: Instead of multimedia projectors, the crew utilized Brighter X-Profile IP moving heads equipped with motorized framing shutter systems to precisely map the light and isolate the architectural elements.
Architectural Illumination: Fixtures from the Atom and Pro Bar series served as the lighting backbone of the courtyard. Functioning as high-output wash and bar lights, they provided perfectly uniform illumination across the historical details, completely redefining the castle’s visual character.
Weatherproofing: Every single fixture deployed on site featured a native IP65 rating, entirely mitigating the operational risks associated with a fully exposed, open-air installation.
CONCLUSIONS
The Taste The Music At The Castle 2026 event represented a unique fusion of electronic festival music and the historic architecture of a Baroque castle. The core challenge lay in transforming a 17th-century landmark into a cutting-edge audiovisual space while strictly adhering to heritage preservation standards.
Strategic Ecosystem Deployment: Deploying a unified ecosystem of 86 Brighter fixtures allowed the production team to fully execute every objective outlined in the project brief.
Resilience in Harsh Environments: The production took place in a demanding outdoor environment, where the lighting systems operated in immediate proximity to live flame jets and $\text{CO}_2$ cannons while remaining continuously exposed to the elements. Selecting high-IP-rated fixtures ensured rock-solid, stable performance throughout the entire duration of the festival.
A New Production Benchmark: Taste The Music At The Castle 2026 set a new benchmark for event production at historical sites, proving that with the right choice of lighting technology, cultural heritage can become a fully integrated, dynamic partner in modern spectacles.
